Empower exceptional community leaders and their organizations to participate in and lead community social enterprises in support of their community service programs.
Our Model
Leaders’ Program main strategy is to provide opportunities to community based organizations that strengthen the sustainability of their service management and expand the reach of their impact in the community
What makes it unique
Our model integrates the development of a community social enterprise with the support of specialized facilitators, empowering each organization and strengthening its sustainability
The four main components of ECL programs are:
1.
Strengthening the leadership of the participating organization
2.
Improving its administrative management and physical facilities
3.
Training and development of young and adults from the community in social entrepreneurship and community service
4.
Development of a social enterprise that generates income to provide employment opportunities for young people and adults and also contributes economically to the direct services to the community offered by these organizations
Goal: The Exceptional Community Leaders Program aims to provide community-based organizations with access to opportunities that strengthen the sustainability of their efforts, the scope of their services, and community impact.
Program Objectives:
- Develop and strengthen the operational capabilities of the organization.
- Support the processes of conceptualizing, designing, and developing a social entrepreneurship initiative as a mechanism for generating their own income.
- Strengthen and develop the leadership capabilities of the organization and the members of its social enterprise.
- Provide new knowledge and develop commitment, skills, and abilities, which train participants for community service, social entrepreneurship, and conscious appreciation of the heritage that distinguishes their community.

Projects in action

The ECL program, along with its participating organizations, promotes the integration and participation of young people and adults in community work and in the planning and development of a community social enterprise.

In the process of creating this enterprise, the work teams of these organizations also strengthen their capacities and resources for the operational and administrative management of their community service programs. Participants are exposed to new experiences and knowledge that empower their community work and help them strengthen their self-esteem and deepen their sense of community identity.

Three community social enterprises have been developed that offer heritage tourism experiences and community service for diverse audiences. The income from these three social enterprises supports the participation of young people and adults in the community and also contributes economically to the direct community service programs offered by the organizations participating in the program.
