Three communities. One sustainable transformation.
Since 2019, we have been supporting and funding three community-based organizations in Puerto Rico with limited access to economic and social opportunities. Together, we have developed a social entrepreneurship model that strengthens their leadership and generates sustainable revenue to support their programs.
Through the Exceptional Community Leaders (ECL) program, we work hand in hand with these organizations to strengthen their organizational capacity, improve administrative management and physical facilities, train youth and adults in leadership and business operations, and develop social enterprises that generate income. These enterprises create employment opportunities for young people and adults while also contributing financially to the direct community services these organizations provide.
Today marks a milestone as we celebrate their independence.
The three social enterprises that emerged from this process now operate independently.
- They generate local employment.
- They sustain vital community services.
- They offer authentic heritage tourism experiences and meaningful community engagement.
The Foundation was the catalyst. They are the key players.
